A college student with the habit of leaving love notes in library books turns her attention to a questionable professor.

Featuring Emily Fisher. Part of The Smile! Project series of shorts (read about the series).

I met Emily through a mutual friend, and, many months later when I was looking for my Louise, I thought of her. I checked out her website and knew I was right — she’s funny, unique, and the kind the actor who makes you lean forward and listen. She works on a character from the inside out. Louise is that two-headed coin of romance and bitterness. This was a story I’d had around for some years, finally ready to come to life, and it took on a new feeling as we went in to rehearsal just as the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the seismic quake of #MeToo broke. Emily and I talked about how our different generations have handled the questionable actions by male teachers and others in our lives, and how we likely will in the future. Louise is caught in the middle, both of her own changing attitudes toward love and sex and of a cultural moment she’s not prepared to face.
